For those following my mini drama series on Network Rail may like to know the latest follow up.
After their last email i responded:

Just about summed it up. At this weekends closure I took a picture of the station crossing, nearest the care homes etc to demonstrate what people were faced with. 

I noticed an obscure sign orphaned form the the Road Closed signs. It indicated a lift and was not really noticeable or in line with pedestrian movement. Just one sign vs numerous road signs!
The response after the event is below.
Following this I raised a FOI request over this and will update on any news.

I am writing in response to your complaint about the closure of level crossings in the Chichester area. You asked how we are maintaining access for all, and on this occasion, we were unable to maintain access as the crossings were closed for work.
 
In order to run a safe railway we need to carry out work and sometimes it is necessary to close access routes which normally would be open and we apologise for this.
